ARGENTINA

Argentina – Gateway to Latin America

Argentina offers one of the most sophisticated business ecosystems in Latin America, with a deep pool of tech, creative and professional talent at very competitive costs. For digital nomads and early-stage founders, a local company lets you tap into a large domestic market while also serving clients across the region in a friendly time zone for both Europe and North America.

Buenos Aires, Córdoba and other major cities have vibrant startup communities, strong engineering schools and a culture that’s very comfortable working in English and remotely. For freelancers and online businesses, incorporating in Argentina can be a way to formalise local operations, hire local talent and issue invoices in a stable legal framework, while still operating globally.

  • Tax snapshot:
  • Corporate income tax is progressive, roughly 25–35% depending on profit brackets, plus around 7% withholding on dividends. Residents are generally taxed on worldwide income, while non-residents are usually taxed only on Argentine-source income.

Non-resident founders

You don’t have to live in Argentina to own a company there. Foreigners can generally own 100% of local companies, and shareholders can be resident or non-resident individuals or entities. An EU-based entrepreneur can set up, for example, an SRL or SA, appoint local or foreign directors, and manage the business remotely. You’ll still need a registered address and to comply with annual filings, but day-to-day decisions can be made from abroad with powers of attorney and digital tools.

From a tax point of view, the company is usually taxed in Argentina on its worldwide income, regardless of where you live personally. As the owner, you’d normally be taxed in your home country on salary/dividends you receive and possibly under any CFC or “management and control” rules there. So the key message for your clients: it’s fully possible to have an Argentine company while living in the EU or elsewhere, but they should coordinate with a home-country tax adviser to avoid surprises.

Argentina is at the forefront for business innovation. Extremely welcoming to new businesses, very crypto friendly, and recently received a 40B USD investment from the US.
